The following article was published in Urban Mum this week.

Urbanmum had the chance to have a chat with an Overtone this week, so we sent our very own Doo – Wop fan Sacha. She had a chat with Lachie Chapman  ahead of their European tour and this is how it went, minus the swooning.

UM Sacha - I was very happy to be asked to interview you as I really enjoyed the album.
OT Lachie -My pleasure and I’m always pleased to hear people liking the album !

Sacha - Tell us how you all got together ?
Lachie
– Well the others formed the band and I joined them a couple of years later. Darren had formed a painting and decorating company which gave them a great opportunity to practice. I helped out when I came along but really I don’t think that was for me. I also spent a lot of time working for promo companies, giving out chocolate at train stations. As I had come over from Australia to act it was a the kind of job many actors did while looking for work.

Sacha-Do you miss Australia ?
Lachie
– Well I have been here for six years and it really does feel like home, but of course when I visit it feels equally like home, so I do have the best of both now.

Sacha – So what music would you say is your influence ?
Lachie
– So many to choose from. Aretha Franklin, Roy Orbisson, The Drifters and The Platters. But I listen to so many different artistes , it’s hard to pick.

Sacha – After the huge success of the album, what’s next ?
Lachie
- Yes it is an exciting time , there is another album in the pipeline and we are touring in Europe very soon.

Sacha - I imagine when you are touring that your audience is mainly women ?
Lachie –
It’s funny you should that, and I think it may start with the girls dragging their husbands along. But after a while you see the men dancing along too which is great.

Sacha - So what do you do to relax ?
Lachie
– Quite honestly, at the moment when we have a day off I like to just cook some food and relax in the house. There is nothing I like better than cooking a roast dinner and having friends over to enjoy it.

Sacha - Thank you  for talking to Urbanmum and we look forward to hearing the new album.
Lachie - I hope you enjoy it and please say a big thanks to your readers for their support, we are thrilled to be able to share our love of music.

A charming man ! And we will be sure to look out for the new album.
